How to save your money on internet access

New data shows how consumers can save money on online access by buying online.

Data from Nielsen shows that in the year ended June 30, 2019, consumers spent on average just over Rs 2,000 more on internet subscriptions compared to the same period last year.

The online subscription cost for a mobile phone rose from Rs 3,600 in 2019 to Rs 5,100 in 2020.

In contrast, the total cost of using a broadband connection rose by just over 50 per cent to Rs 1,100.

The increase is due to the increase in internet access costs.

According to Nielsen, average monthly data bills for consumers rose by 2.2 per cent in the 12 months to June 30.
